Safety Engineer

As the Safety Engineer, you will be critical in ensuring industry regulated guidelines are continuously adhered to during each stage of the product life-cycle, guaranteeing its effectiveness when used by field personnel. The Safety Engineer is influential in implementing a broad range of Safety Engineering activities, specifically in connection with combat system analysis. The work you produce will actively contribute to the overall success and maintenance of military submarines, with the continued reduction of safety risks encountered when operating the submarines. Should you possess the raw talent necessary for the position, then onsite training will be offered in certain areas, in support of your future career development.

Requirements for the Safety Engineer:

- Providing working safety reports for defence systems based on substantive evidence.
- Engaging in Hazard Identification workshops and Safety Committee meetings.
- Producing Failure Mode and Effects Analysis studies, as well as Fault Tree Analysis, in order to gather evidence in support of safety cases.
- Write and deliver on Safety Case documentation, in support of project schedules.
- Prior experience working within an Engineering or Systems Engineering role.
- Knowledge of the system development lifecycle when set against the standard 'V-model'.
- An Engineering or Science qualification.
- Knowledge of Hazard Logs, Hazard Identification and Safety Cases,
- Experience with Fault Tree Analysis and MoD standards (Def Stan 00-56).

The successful candidate will be expected to achieve full SC clearance for this role!!!
