Applications Development Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a Applications Development Manager
to join a world leading provider of advanced solutions to the defence sector, working on leading edge software projects. Due to the nature of the work, Security Clearance will be required so we can only consider long term British nationals of single British nationality.

As part of an integrated team you will be contributing to the development of current and future products, planning and executing deliverables for enterprise wide software a mix of bespoke development and commercial off the shelf products.

The Tech Specification

The successful candidate is likely to be a very organised, detail orientated Applications Development Manager or Team Lead with demonstrable leadership and team building skills as well as a technical background in software development ideally.

Key areas of Responsibility for the Applications Development Manager

* Oversee the development of complex windows based software
* Grow and maintain the Applications portfolio, and roadmap development to enhance products and service delivery
* Leading a team and providing technical direction, coaching and mentoring of juniors
* Track and trouble-shoot issues and act as a point of escalation within the team
* Apply extensive technical expertise to the successful outcome of incidents and projects

Skills sought of the Applications Development Manager

* Experience of leading a variety of Software Development projects
* A technical background ideally in C# or ASP.NET development or SAP
* Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems
* Ability to understand business work flows, create new work flows and test scripts
* ITIL Foundation certified and Prince 2 Foundation preferred
* Strongly analytical with good problem solving skills
* Experienced team leader
