Combining technical experience and professional client care, this leading UK manufacturer now has an opening for a Technical Author with a knowledge of CAD animation and a technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. You’ll be part of a successful manufacturing team, working on state of the art electronic inspection and sensing systems.

Key responsibilities of the Technical Author

* To develop technical content and documentation for complex systems, ensuring that technical information is communicated in a clear and concise way
* Communicate to a variety of audiences across online and offline channels
* Produce CAD animations and graphical assets, FAQ’s, white papers and more
* Prepare screen demo’s with Framemaker, Robohelp or simliar
* Liaise with R&D and other teams to create new content
* Develop a consistent look and feel across assets

Key skills and experience sought

* Great writing and communication skills
* Prior experience creating a variety of materials, including some of the following: online content, print, video, multimedia or illustration
* Mastery of MS Office and authoring packages, ideally some technical drawing or the ability to manipulate drawings
* Highly organised, team player
* Experience working in manufacturing would be a bonus

Highly desirable
* Understanding of Solidworks
* Experience with Sharepoint
